Our first full length album, "A List of Our Worries". Recorded over a decade ago, this low-fi album chronicles the efforts of the first Golden Alphabet band. Recorded in a living room in Tucson, Arizona. Far from perfect, this album is a great example of what Golden Alphabet was all about back in the pre-2010 days.

If I’m just a little boy with a stick in his eye I’ll never be a Jesuit, I am self-deny. Win the prize, win the prize, take it home. Come to life, come to life, telephone. If I’m the hunk they say I am, I’m on my way. The road to consummation has been properly paved.

Coming to a close like a shutting iris, Can’t wake up like this, I can’t wake up like this anymore. Everyone is spinning like a thaumatrope- They get pulled and pulled ‘til their strings get broken. They seem to change with the weather. It’s the weather that I welcome; now it’s blowing away. I can’t see my hands, I can’t see my own face. Heat mirages eat them. I admit. I got too close. I’ve been staring at a ghost on an old piece of paper that I wrote: “I should have kissed you at your door.” Come the money and maybe I’ll ignore. I’ve got a woman so I’ll sleep on the floor. Said you were “stuck on a page again, its ruse and routine again.” Stuck on a wage again, it’s starting to wear again. Suffering madness in a country of cactus. The weeds will grow through the concrete despite our efforts. Flashes of light cutting fast through the night. There’s a girl with a gun and a man with a camera. Some girls will be dancers while boys will grow cancers. Teachers calling my name but I don’t know the answers. This single night held a frame: the helicopters, the train. There’s a mine under my house that has yet to be named. I’ve been telling my lies. The conch. The Lord of the Flies. Listen to me; I will edit the reasons out. You tore into me so I set the machine to explode.

Well, lately I’ve been staring at the mountains. Pretending that they are, in fact, huge waves Moving slowly to cover up our valley. Constant threat to make sure we behave. And I’ve been buying into salesmanship. “Good job! You know, you’re really doing well.” I wonder how long Humpty Dumpty sat there. I wonder how long before he fell. So they make their way below the torn up sky. Too thin, they tease us of most interesting rain. Too many folks. Too many folks. Too many folks around here. So if you have to fight a war to kill those feelings. If the dark whiskey really ails your pain… Your depression: it doesn’t impress me. Impress to me that we were not brought up the same. So fight it fast or simply succumb to fear. Come home and tell me stories you know I’ve been longing to hear. Too many folks. Too many folks. Too many folks around here.

Pan Tran 03:35
Stuck on a page again. It’s ruse and routine again. Stuck in the middle. Are you sick or are you ill? Are we moving? Are we standing still? I’ve got my certain disease, I puke and fall to my knees. The lights hiccup and spin, fall asleep. We are the murder of sight, a casualty of the fight, for illusions that we’d like to keep. Stuck on a wage again. It’s starting to wear again. I lost my way in the foliage. Last time I checked disillusion was real. You told me to read the parts with flaming trees And when it starts to get colder, I’ll try to act older. Last time I checked, disillusion was void. Wake up Tommy. Wake up now. Wake up Charlie. Wake up meow.

Daniel Stuff 03:46
(tape) I’m in the deep end and I’m baking proper witness cakes. We were the tailgate of a Portuguese parade. My imaginary friends never dreamed of getting paid. We’re getting warm with lacks of synergy.
6.
Drunk as can be, Never waste your time on me. Liquid days are hazy, they make you what you’re not. Watering the sea. I want to be the one who sees where the sky ends and where the ground begins. Recede into me. See the trees bleed for the sea, And I’ll glaze your eyes with the gold that’s plaguing my restless soul. Cut up my chest. Dress me in my Sunday’s best. I’ll go to church but I ain’t gonna listen. Arteries intact, Take off that stupid hat. You think your world’s a circus, now the elephants are gone. Recite the old songs. We might be awake. But if not, then I’ll dream of you. Tucson’s hot, but I’ll sweat with you.
7.
Me Lovely 02:54
Stay with me tonight. Play with me lovely. Keep face with me tonight. If heaven’s where you’re heading. When you look at me through those eyes you see a monster. It’s me, is that all right? Worth keeping? Well that I don’t know. If heaven’s where you are, Pray for me darling. I’ll hold in for 22 years and watch my breath leave the frost on the window shields and the glass front doors. I’m not waking up anymore.
8.
Girlfriend prizes, the world despises you. You knew your Grandpa for 5 years but then he dived in the soup. You’ve got your tactical pliers to say, “Don’t fly in the coupe.” I’ve become such an old miser. Do I see a prize in you? Hei Mahniyo No Mahyo
9.
Watch out. Watch out for me. Because I’m coming down real hard. My uncle died and my smile’s dying too. Everyone’s dying all around me- Please tell me not you too. Oh, I think the wind is carrying this disease. Death spawns death, I hope you know what I mean. Swallow hard and look behind me. I hope that death’s still at the door and not at my knees. Follow our drunken leader. I hope that he still has the map and didn’t sell it for weed. He said, “I think the wind is carrying this disease. Death spawns death, I hope you know what I mean.”
10.
Peel the resin off my eyes. This life was once, it’s gonna be twice. We’re a jumping castle full of great ideas. I think this was long due; what your mom knew before you were born. Rip the rooftops, behold the sky. You knew you were wrong and you were right. They will tell you: “You’ve got the right ideas.” But they don’t know you like the “you” you were before. If I’m just a little boy with a stick in his eye, I’ll never be a Jesuit, I am self-deny. Win the prize, win the prize, take it home. Come to life, come to life, telephone.
