Our first full length album, "A List of Our Worries". Recorded over a decade ago, this low-fi album chronicles the efforts of the first Golden Alphabet band. Recorded in a living room in Tucson, Arizona. Far from perfect, this album is a great example of what Golden Alphabet was all about back in the pre-2010 days.

lyrics

Coming to a close like a shutting iris,
Can’t wake up like this, I can’t wake up like this anymore.
Everyone is spinning like a thaumatrope-
They get pulled and pulled ‘til their strings get broken.
They seem to change with the weather.
It’s the weather that I welcome; now it’s blowing away.
I can’t see my hands, I can’t see my own face.
Heat mirages eat them.

I admit. I got too close.
I’ve been staring at a ghost on an old piece of paper that I wrote:
“I should have kissed you at your door.”
Come the money and maybe I’ll ignore.
I’ve got a woman so I’ll sleep on the floor.

Said you were “stuck on a page again, its ruse and routine again.”
Stuck on a wage again, it’s starting to wear again.
Suffering madness in a country of cactus.
The weeds will grow through the concrete despite our efforts.
Flashes of light cutting fast through the night.
There’s a girl with a gun and a man with a camera.
Some girls will be dancers while boys will grow cancers.
Teachers calling my name but I don’t know the answers.
This single night held a frame: the helicopters, the train.
There’s a mine under my house that has yet to be named.
I’ve been telling my lies.
The conch. The Lord of the Flies.
Listen to me; I will edit the reasons out.
You tore into me so I set the machine to explode.
